Who is the book club for?

The picture shows a selection of contemporary books.
Some of the books we might read

I'll prepare a few questions for you to discuss at the book club so that you get lots of speaking practice. You can also ask me questions about any vocabulary or grammar that you find interesting in the book. At the end of each session, I'll provide some feedback to help you improve your English.

Possible books

Feel free to make suggestions about the books that you want to read. I try to suggest books that are around 200 pages long. Here are some possible ideas for our next choice - perhaps you can do a spot of online research to decide which books you would like to read.

  • The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro

  • The Catcher in the Rye by J D Salinger

  • The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes

  • David Nicholls - One Day or You Are Here

  • Toya Wolfe - Last Summer on State Street

  • Rachel Ingalls - Mrs Caliban

  • Dorothy Gallagher - Stories I Forgot to Tell You

  • George Orwell - Animal Farm

  • The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

  • Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

You can also find more inspiration by looking at the books we've read in my other book clubs. Click this link to find out more.
