B2 English grammar and conversation

Check this post to find out the course dates, course plan and homework. We'll meet in Kreis 6 on Tuesdays at 12:30, doing grammar and vocabulary one week and conversation the next. We will be using Destination B2 by Malcolm Mann and Steve Taylore-Knowles. Make sure you buy the version that includes answers.

Course plan

Check out the lesson plan so that you know what you should do before the lesson.

Lesson 5 - 6 June

Lesson 4 - 30 May

Lesson 3 - 23 May

Today we talked about words having more than one meaning and continued with word transformation. I told you that Deepl might sometimes give you the wrong answer - it's important to look at the suggestions given by online translators and decide which is the best one. We did some research on Skell comparing the words sure, certain, surely and certainly.

For next week I'd like you to listen to the 6-minute English episode on food and mood. If you have time. listen to some other episodes.

Lesson 2 - 9 May

Let's start by listening to an episode of 6-minute English. Click here to listen to the episode about procrastination (putting things off) before the lesson.

Keep working with Duolingo each day. Read some of the book that I lent to you and listen to the 6-minute English episode on procrastination. Hopefully you'll have Destination by next week.

Lesson 1 - 18 April

Let's get to know each other

Cambridge B2 First exam

These lessons are suitable for people who are thinking of doing the First exam. By the time you've finished working through Destination you'll have a good knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary needed to pass the First exam.
